Emily Deschanel endorses IDA's 5th annual 'World Go Vegan Week'

Emily Deschanel, the star of the hit TV show Bones, has joined forces with In Defense of Animals (IDA) in an effort to promote veganism through the organization’s World Go Vegan Week.

“The 5th annual World Go Vegan Week is taking place this year from October 24th through 31st,” said Deschanel. “This week is a celebration of compassion and a time to take action for animals, the environment and everyone’s well-being. A plant-based diet not only improves your health, it significantly reduces your carbon footprint and preserves resources for future generations. So please join me in creating a healthy future and go vegan for World Go Vegan Week.”

During World Go Vegan Week, IDA is coordinating events around the globe to encourage people to become more aware of the foods they eat and the impact their choices have on the world. IDA wants to remind everyone that “eliminating meat from your diet is one of the most powerful and effective steps you can take to fight cruelty to animals, improve your own health, and help create a sustainable environment.”

Bones star Emily Deschanel is the face of the fifth annual World Go Vegan Week. From October 21-31, California-based non-profit organisation In Defense of Animals (IDA) is holding various events and initiatives to highlight the health and environmental benefits of a vegan diet, encouraging the public to be more conscious of what they eat, the effects their choices have on the world, and alternative vegan recipes they can try. Woody Harrelson was last year's celebrity supporter.
